We wish to thank Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia for some of the information on this page. We share images and information with Wikipedia. It appears that a mutation has occured to the California Or Mexican Gold Poppy that is common to Arizona. There is also a new cultivated variety called "White Linen" California Poppy ( Eschscholzia californica white linen ). It is thought that the 'White Linen" is not the same as the Mutant Variety found on the remote Arizona deserts. For some reason there are a lot of the Mutants being found during March of 2009 at Bartlett Lake, Arizona. The mutation in these photos have yellow to gold pollen. Some of the Bartlett Lake mutations have a pinkish color to the petals. Some have a slight gold color to the petals edges. Another mutation is noted in the literature. It was found in California and it has both white pollen and white petals.
