Twisted Leaf Yucca
Yucca rupicola, Agave Family: ( Agavaceae ), Twisted Leaf Yucca. Also called: Yucca tortifolia, Twisted Yucca, Twist Leaf Yucca, Texas yucca.

Twisted Leaf Yucca is an evergreen, perennial, which grows from 1 to 2 feet high (to 5 feet or more with flower stalk) and 1 to 2 feet wide. It is easily identified by its flaccid, twisted leaves!

Twist-leaf yucca ia very attractive and is ideal for small spaces where the larger yuccas can not be planted. It is great in rock gardens, wildscapes and raised accent beds. It will grow in full sun, part sun or light shade. This plant needs little care once established.

Height: About 3 -7 feet tall and 12 - 24 inches wide.
Flowers: Large pendulous greenish-white to cream white, sometimes tinged with purple. On a five foot stalk.
Blooming Time: June - July.
Leaves: The leaves are narrow, undulate, olive-green, and they twist as they age. The leaf margins can be yellow, orange or red, with minute sharp teeth.
Found: Found on ocky slopes or sites with very poor dry soil covering rock. Rupicola means "lover of rock."
Elevation: 0 - 4,800 Feet.
Habitat: Rocky limestone hillsides and grassy flats. An ideal xeriscape landscape plant in Arizona. Native to the Edwards Plateau region of Texas.
Miscellaneous: Hardy to 0 to -10 degrees F.
