There are numerous wild birds living in Yarnell, Arizona. Their numbers and varieties vary according to the seasons of the year.

Usually the fourth Saturday of every March, so many of the Turkey Vultures return to Yarnell from their annual migration into Mexico, that we celebrate their return. This celebration is called "Buzzard’s Bash." It is usually held at our riparian area, Flora Mae Park.

Yarnell is located on the Highway 89, Scenic Route to Prescott, Arizona. Yarnell is also listed as one of the communities to visit along the American Heritage Trail route. There is a link to the Yarnell Chamber Of Commerce at the bottom of this page.

We will try to show you some of the wild birds in the Yarnell area on this page.

Most of the images are taken from our back yard. All we have to do is sit on our back porch and take their pictures.

This page is a work in progress, so please come back for updates.

Audrey and George are not bird experts, so we probably won't be able to answer any technical questions about the birds. Please, let us know if you spot any errors on this page!

We have already learned that wild bird photography takes a lot of patience. We hope you enjoy our amateur efforts!

A SPECIAL THANK YOU to Eric Moore of Jays Bird Barn in Prescott, Arizona for checking out our page to advise us about the names of the various birds.
