Whispering Bells Emmenanthe penduliflora, Waterleaf Family ( Hydrophyllaceae ), Whispering Bells. Also called Whisperingbells. Whispering Bells is a forb/herb annual Dicot of the Hydrophyllaceae family. Height: About 1 - 1 1/2 feet. Spreading out to about 1 1/2 foot wide. Flowers: A pale yellow color, bell shaped, nodding, with 5 petals, about 1/2 inch in diameter. Blooming Time: February to April. Leaves: The narrow, green leaves are pinnately lobed. with saw-toothed edges. The stems and leaves are covered in glandular hairs. Elevation: 0 - 4000 Feet. Habitat: Sandy or gravelly areas.
