Leucophyllum candidum, Snapdragon or Figwort Family: ( Scrophulariaceae ), Violet Silverleaf. Also called: Cenizo, Big Bend Silverleaf, Violet Texas Ranger.

A low evergreen shrub, or herbaceous perennial shrub.

This plant is attractive to bees, butterflies and/or birds. Drought-tolerant; suitable for xeriscaping.

With its intense violet flowers that appear in the summer through fall in response to humidity or rainfall, it is an eye-catching plant.

Height: About 3 - 5 feet in height. Spreading 2 - 5 feet.
Flowers: Violet flowers.
Blooming Time: February - May.
Leaves: Silver - white, velvet leaves.
Found: Found throughout Southwest USA, Northern Mexico.
Elevation: 2,200 - 4,900 Feet.
Habitat: Chalky/alkaline, Dry, Sandy, Well-drained/light soils. An ideal xeriscape landscape plant in Arizona.
