Mexican Sunflower
Tithonia rotundiflora, Aster or Sunflower Family ( Asteraceae ), also known as the Composite Family: ( Compositae ), Mexican Sunflower: Also called; Tithonia, Bolivian Sunflower, Marigold Tree.

Mexican sunflower is a warm season annual with a stout, spreading habit, growing to 5-6 ft tall and 3-4 ft wide. The leaves are coarse, 3-lobed, 4-10 in long and 2-4 in wide. The leaves and stems are covered with a soft fur. The numerous flower heads are brilliant red-orange, like daisies or zinnias, and about 3 in across. The cultivar, 'Torch', was named as an All America Selection. Dwarf cultivars are also available.

Height: Up To 5 to 6 feet tall. 3 to 4 feet wide.
Flowers: Brilliant red-orange, flowers like daisies or zinnias, about 3 in across.
Blooming Time: June & October.
Leaves: Coarse, 3 - lobed, 4 - 10 in long and 2 - 4 in wide. Covered with a soft fur.
Found: There are about 10 species of Tithonia native to Mexico and Central America.
Elevation: 0 - 4,800 Feet.
Habitat: Sandy desert soils, hot, sunny areas, good drainage, 0 to 4,800 feet.
