Annual Vine that grows where supported by other plants.
Considered a noxious weed in some places.
Height: Vine Growing to about 10 feet.
Flowers: The flowers are red, tubular, trumpet-shaped flowers are up to to 1.25 inches (3.2 cm) long and 3/4 inch (1.9 cm) wide. Calyx lobes long and slender.
Blooming Time: May - November.
Fruit: Contains 1 to 4 seeds, capsule round, up to 8 mm in diameter.
Leaves: The leaves are divided into 3 or 5 lobes, unlike the heart-shaped leaves of Ipomoea coccinea.
Found: Found in Mohave, Yavapai, Coconino, and Apache counties of Arizona.
Elevation: 2500 - 6000 Feet.
Habitat: Alkaline, well-drained/light soils. An ideal xeriscape garden landscape plant in Arizona. Native of the American Southwest & Mexico.
