Huachuca Mountain Rocktrumpet
Macrosiphonia brachysiphon Dogbane Family: ( Apocynaceae ) , Huachuca Mountain Rocktrumpet. Also called: Telosiphonia brachysiphon, Rock Trumpet.

The Huachuca Mountain Rocktrumpet is an erect, evergreen Subshrub, usually roundish, which develops a short stem with a small crown. Its leaves are green, opposite, puberulent, broadly ovate to elliptic, and about 3/4 to 1 1/4 inch long, and 1/4 to 3/4 inch wide.

Macrosiphonia brachysiphon flowers are white, trumpet shaped and about 2 - 3 inches long and about 1 1/2 inches wide.

It has 2 follicle fruits which are about 5 inches long and covered in red - copper colored hairs. Thes seeds are slightly red, puberulent, and flat, with the margins folded in.

Height: Up to 24 inches tall. Spreads up to 3 feet wide.
Flowers: White, trumpet shaped and about 2 - 3 inches long and about 1 1/2 inches wide.
Fruit: It has 2 follicle fruits which are about 5 inches long and covered in red - copper colored hairs. Thes seeds are slightly red, puberulent, and flat, with the margins folded in.
Blooming Time: Late March - November. Best, April - August.
Leaves: Leaves are gray - green, opposite, puberulent, broadly ovate to elliptic, 3/4 to 1 1/4 inch long, 1/4 to 3/4 inch wide.
Found: Found Southeastern Arizona, the Franklin Mountains of Texas, New Mexico, Sonora and Chihuahua, Mexico.
Elevation: 3700 - 5800 Feet.
Habitat: Rocky slopes and plains found in desert grassland, often found on limestone.
