Viguiera stenoloba, Aster or Sunflower Family ( Asteraceae ) also known as the Composite Family: ( Compositae ), Resin Bush: Also called: Shrubby Goldeneye, Resin Bush, Skeletonleaf Goldeneye.

Skeleton-leaf goldeneye is an extremely ornamental shrub or sub-shrub. It adapts to most well-drained sites in full sun,

Shrubby Goldeneye blooms intermittently through the summer and heavily in the fall.

It has thin dark green leaves, golden daisies and a rounded growth habit.

In its native habitat, skeleton-leaf goldeneye is evergreen, but farther north it will be only root hardy.

Its leaves contain aromatic oils and it is a larval plant for some butterflies.

Height: Up to 3 feet tall; to 3 feet wide.
Flowers: Terminal heads with yellow ray and disk flowers about 3 inches in diameter.
Blooming Time: February to June. About anytime after rains.
Leaves: Dark - green, Simple, alternate, drought-deciduous, narrow strip of blade along midrib and a couple of skinny lobes.
Found: Chihuahuan desert, Texas south into northern Mexico.
Elevation: 0 - 5000 Feet.
Habitat: Chihuahuan desert, Sandy desert soils.
