Oenothera caespitosa, Evening Primrose Family ( Onagraceae ), Stemless Primrose. Also called Tufted Evening - Primrose, Sandlily, or White Stemless Evening primrose.

Evergreen to deciduous perennial dicot species of Phacelia in Arizona.

Height: Up To 10" tall, and up to about 2 feet in diameter.
Flowers: Flowers White turning pink as they wilt.
Blooming Time: April - September.
Leaves: Leaves are in a basal rosette. Green, fuzzy leaves.
Found: Arizona roadsides, ponderosa forest clearings, dry, rocky slopes; disturbed ground.
Elevation: 2000 - 7500 Feet.
Habitat: where it occupies open, sandy washes to rocky flats, bajadas, roadsides, and playas.
