After the martyrdom of Joseph Smith, the Latter Day Saints were led from Nauvoo to the site of modern day Salt Lake City. It was not too long afterwards that Brigham Young directed the Saints to expand their growth into other areas. One of those areas was modern day, Saint George, Utah. The Saints were then directed to build a temple in Saint George and Pipe springs was used as a tithing ranch to provide cattle and dairy products to the workers building the Saint George Temple.Famous visitors who stayed here are: Brigham Young, James Montgomery Whitmore, John Wesley Powell, Jacob V. Hamblin, John Doyle Lee, and Levi Stewart. This page contains a sample of the best digital photos and pictures that we have taken of the settlement in modern day Pipe Springs, Arizona.
