"El Parque del Amor:"
Love Park is located on the cliffs of Chorrillos overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It's surrounded by walls of romantic quotes scripted in mosaic tiles and a monumental statue of two lovers embracing each other in the center of the park. El Parque del Amor was an unexpected surprise to us since; it is a on the cliffs overlooking the Pacific ocean devoted entirely to romance. The poet Antonio Cilloniz had lamented that "In the cities, they do not build monuments to lovers", a reaction, to all the monuments in South America (and everywhere else) devoted to those who had distinguished themselves in battle by either winning or dying. Miraflores decided to be the exception and they opened the Parque del Amor in 1993 on Valentines day. The park features a prominent statue of two lovers in a passionate embrace over Cilloniz's very own words. The major sculpture in the park is of "El Beso", a couple engaged in a passionate kiss. It was sculpted by Victor Delfin. The sculpture celebrates the lovers who gather to catch the sunset on the waters of the Pacific Ocean. It is said that the locals compete for the longest kiss under this statue. Walking here at most times of the day and night you can see couples here, kissing or snuggled close together. You may also want to go about 5,000 feet south of Parque del Amor on the street; Del Ejército Perez Aranibar, to see the Maria Reiche Garden. We were at "El Parque del Amor" on April 11, 2006 at about 10:25 AM.

It is located in Callao, 11 kilometers (7 mi) from the Historic Centre of Lima and 17 km (11 mi) from Miraflores. Callao is the port city which is now fully integrated with Lima, the nation's capital.
There are several Guided Tour Agencies offering standard city, Hiking, and archaeological tours of Lima and the surrounding area. We suggest Flying into Lima and then going to the surrounding areas of your choice. We would suggest getting your hotel and then letting them arrange tours of the area for you. If you call the hotels Concierge Services ahead of your arrival, all of this can be pre-arranged for you. We do this all the time. It is safe and it works!!! We have never experienced a problem doing it this way! We have links to Expedia.com on our page so that you can arrange your flight and hotel in Lima.
