Trujillo airport has connections to Lima, Chiclayo, Cajamarca, Tumbes, & Chagual for Huamachuco. It offers three airlines with daily flights from Lima to Trujillo; LanPeru, Star Peru, and WayraPeru. We would suggest flying to Lima and then to Trujillo. Then you can get a taxi to downtown Trujillo for as little as about S/15 ($4.95/£2.55) if you bargain with the driver. Most drivers start by asking about S/20 ($6.60/£3.40). There are several Guided Tour Agencies offering standard city and archaeological tours of the area. ie.. Guía Tours, Chacón Tours, Consorcio Turístico del Norte, and Trujillo Tours. Most standard tours cost about S/45 to S/60 ($15-$20/£7.65-£10) per person. We suggest getting your hotel and then letting them arrange tours of the area for you. If you call the hotels Concierge Services ahead of your arrival, all of this can be pre-arranged for you. We do this all the time. It is safe and it works!!! We have never experienced a problem doing it this way!
