Giza Sphinx & Pyramids Page 3, Khafre (Chephren)
The pyramid of Khafre is very striking because of the remanint of its original white limestone cap or apex. All three of the pyrimids were coated with this beautiful white limestone coating. Originally the pyrimid was 470 feet high, it now is 446 feet in height. Even so, it is not as high at the Great Pyrimid of Khufu. Khufu is the father of Khafre so perhaps it was in honor to his father that Khafre made his pyramid smaller. This pyramid is renowned for its pyramid complex which is considered to be greater than the other pyramids. The Quality Of our inside pictures is not good since the guard was very strict as to where we could use flash. In some instances photographs from other people have been substituted. They also are not of high quality.
