Desert Coreopsis
Coreopsis bigelovii, Aster or Sunflower Family also known as the Composite Family: ( Compositae ), Desert Coreopsis: Also called; Leptosyne bigelovii, Bigelow Coreopsis, Bigelow's Tickseed.
Height: Up To 1 to 1 1/2 feet tall.
Flowers: Yellow, flower heads appear at the ends of 12 - 18 inch light green stems. Flowers are composed of 8 to 10 rays.
Blooming Time: March to May.
Leaves: Oblong to oblanceolate gray-green leaves up to 3 inches long.
Found: Native to California .
Elevation: 0 - 5,000 Feet. Native in Arizona between 1,500 - 3,500 feet in Mohave and Coconino counties.
Habitat: Desert gravelly slopes, creosote bush scrub, joshua tree woodland, pinyon-juniper woodland.
