On this page we have left Sicuani Town and are on our way to Abra La Raya or La Raya Pass which is the highest point of our tour at 14,172 feet elevation according to our GPS. After a short stop at La Raya Pass we continued our drive to the Pueblo of Pucará Or Pukara, depending upon who you talk to. There is a museum and archaeological ruins at Pukara. Pukara is famous for the sale of toritos or bulls made of ceramic which adorn most homes in Peru. We left on the drive to Puno on April 19, 2006. We found this trip to be a very interesting tour to the many places on the way to Puno.
