Southwestern Cosmos
Cosmos bipinnatus, Aster or Sunflower Family also known as the Composite Family: ( Compositae ), Southwestern Cosmos: Also called; Cosmos, Mexican Aster.

Cosmos bipinnatus is a tender annual that has fine feathery foliage, with its pinnate leaves growing to about 10 inches in length. Southwestern Cosmos will grow from about 1 - 7 foot tall depending upon the variety and growing conditions.

Mexican aster has beautiful solitary red, white, pink or purple flowers that are about 2 - 3 inches in diameter.

Cosmos is a good nectar plant for attracting butterflies into the garden.

Height: Up To 1 to 7 feet tall.
Flowers: Two - three inch, solitary red, white, pink or purple flowers.
Blooming Time: Late May to November.
Leaves: Pinnate, green leaves growing to about 10 inches in length.
Found: Native to Mexico and the southwestern United States.
Elevation: 0 - 5,000 Feet.
Habitat: Sandy desert soils, hot, sunny areas, good drainage, to 5,000 feet.
Miscellaneous: Flowering Photos Taken . Great xeriscape plant.
