Mentzelia multiflora is a dicot, perennial herb about 2 to 3 feet tall and about 16 inches wide that is native to western North America.
Height: About 2 to 3 feet tall and about 16 inches wide.
Flowers: Inflorescence with 1 to 3 flowers. The 1/3 inch to 4/5 inch, golden-yellow flower heads appear at the ends of branches.
Blooming Time: March - October.
Leaves: Up to 3 inches long and up to about 1 inch wide. They are sessile, narrowly elliptic to lanceolate, and occasionally oblanceolate; the margins are toothed to lobed.
Found: Creosote Bush Scrub, Pinyon - Juniper Woodlands.
Elevation: 100 to 7,500 Feet.
Habitat: Sandy desert soils to 7,500'. Southeastern Arizona, Northern half of Arizona, southern New Mexico. Also in Southern Arizona and Northern Mexico.
