Dawe's Aloe
Aloe dawei, Aloe or Asphodel Family: ( Asphodelaceae ), Dawe's Aloe: Also called; Jacob's Ladder, Aloe Pole-Evansii, Aloe beniensis.
Needs partial shade in the summer in Phoenix.
This plant is listed in the AMWUA booklet for the Phoenix area, however most nurseries can not order it as other Aloes are much more popular.
Height: Up To 3 feet tall.
Flowers: Orange-Red Tubular Flowers.
Blooming Time: December to February.
Leaves: Green succulent leaves with thorns on the margins.
Found: Native to yhe mountains of eastern and central Africa (Uganda, Congo, Rwanda).
Elevation: 0 - 3,800 Feet.
Habitat: Sandy desert soils, partial shade areas, good drainage, to 3,800 feet.
